I would check with guys at Guitar Emporium on Bardstown Road. They have been in business for many years and know lots of musicians. I know they have rooms in the back used for guitar instruction because I have heard people playing while I have been browsing in the store. They may have someone who teaches bass, as well. Also, one of the guys who works there plays bass for a local L'ville band. Good luck.
I can't give you any specific recommendations, but I'd take a walk around the U of L School of Music and look for flyers on the various bulletin boards in the halls. I know I've seen ads for bass teachers before... even just walking around and chatting up a few bassy-looking people might be helpful. Good luck!
