Bass Teachers in Mass???

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys,

I'm looking for a serious bass instructor in the Massachusetts area. I live in Franklin, but would be willing to drive a bit for the right teacher. Looking for intermediate-advanced lessons from someone inspiring, someone very serious about music/bass playing, and someone from whom I can learn something that I couldn't just read in a book or learn on my own...I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts and/or suggestions...thanks a lot!

You're making a great move. I've got a great teacher in Pepperell, but I doubt you'd want to drive that far.

Check the bulletin board at GC in Attleboro (I think there's also a mom-n-pop down that way, too).

What's your current level? The guy I go to is in Uxbridge..not far from Franklin. He has been great from me...taught me from scratch...a TON of theory knowledge.

I'd say intermediate-advanced...I'm a longtime musician, but relatively new to the bass. I have a pretty good understanding of music, but still working on the chops and playing like a bass player.

If you are interested, check out Blackstone Valley Music in Uxbridge. Ask for Randy V. He is a guitarist by trade, but understands(and appreciates!) the importance of bass. He has taken me from beginner to advanced-intermediate. If you are truly an advanced player, I don't know that he will be able to help with your chops, because he is not a bassist. But as mentioned earlier, his music knowledge is vast and has helped me immensly. Can't hurt to talk to him and see if you're a match. Good luck.
