Sign in to disble this ad
So yeah...i've been playin bass on an electric guitar for the last 2 months. Its not the most comfortable thing to do, but i got a guitar for my birthday and then bass grew on me, so i was pretty pi$$ed. But i'm gettin my bass this week, so looking forward!!!

Also need opinions...i started from scratch 2 months ago and i can play these on bass:

Lip Gloss and black by Atreyu
Pull Harder On The Strings by Trivium
The Crimson by Atreyu
Like light to flies by Trivium
and more!!!

How's that?

Ha! I started that way, too. Don't sell your guitar, though. You might get an urge to pick it up again. Best to keep both.

Wow, a whole list of songs and I have never heard of any of them... I really am getting old. I would say that if you are learning, and you're having fun, and you're motivated to continue learning about the bass - then you're doing great! I also have to agree with this:

+1 That's how I started, (WAY back when....I'm getting old, too, Matthew!), and when my brother heard me picking out bass lines instead of guitar parts he gave me his old bass and the rest is history. Learning stuff off records, (oops! CD's to you young'n's these days!), is great ear-training and lots of fun! Keep it up!

Too late about the not getting rid of guitar thing. Happened today. My Guitar shop just said they'd swap it so i got a decent £200 Ibanez GSR200 4 string...tis nice for a first one :P So right now i'm playing stuff i coupld play already but i'm finding it easier without them damn electric guitar strings hurtin ma fingers!

If you swapped it, that's fine. If you were going to get some laughable amount of money for it, then it wouldn't have been worth it.
