Question Beginner Tab Question

This might be a laughable question but I've only been playing bass for a month or so.

When reading tabs, I've come to parts when two numbers are stacked on top of each other like a column. Now when on guitar, this means play the notes together like a chord. What does it mean for bass tabs? You aren't supposed to play chords when finger plucking right?

It's the same as for guitar. If they're stacked, you play them both at the same time.
