Beginning Metronome Study

Sign in to disble this ad
I mentioned earlier that I was studying from "What Duck Done". I can play along fairly well with the first example, "You Don't Miss Your Water", but I'd like to be able to work with a metronome to really get my time together. First, any recommendations for beginning metronome study, as in a graded book or similar web site to get me more comfortable playing in stricter time? Second, when working in 6/8, as the aforementioned tune is, is it preferable to use the click as 8th notes or dotted quarters? It's much easier as 8th's, so that probably means counting as dotted quarters is better! Thanks for any help or advice.
