Beginning transcribing. tabs or standard notes?

I've heard a lot of talk about the importance of transcribing early on but does it matter if it's tabs or not?

Standard notation. Using it to transcribe will help with sight reading.

The definition of transcription is putting something into standard notation. Tabbing something is just..............tabbing it.

btw - don't tab, it makes you look dumb.
