Sign in to disble this ad
Hey everybody,

Just made a new video with my Fretless Benavente 4-string doing a style of tapping I haven't seen very widely used, but I find to be very useful. Check it out!

thanks. It is reaaaaly easy and fun once you can move it around. I figured it out after watching Billy Sheehan do something similar, except he was just kinda mahing the chords town, 2 and 3 strings at a time instead of arpeggiating them

Well done... but that is VERY difficult to do ...so if you don't mind, I'm giving up now.

hehe. Dont give up! the theory behind it is so simple, once you can get the muscle memory of those shapes into your hands you'll be able to bust it out at any time

Thanks. I wish I was actually playing with him! hehe... I made that video weeks before I found out that Michael Manring had written his own bass line to that same song

I wonder how it would sound if it was in tune. And if it was necessary.

I'd say being able to arpeggiate chords is pretty necessary. you don't have to do it as fast or in single sequences like i was doing. This is the beginning of making both of your hands able to tap and can help lead to being able to do a bass line with your left hand and a lead with your other. i guess that is also a skill that is "unnecessary" but people still pay Stu Hamm to watch him to it...
