what a bassline. not the hardest, not the funkiest, not the fastest, but I've had it stuck in my head for the last year or so.

Twist and Crawl
Rankin Full Stop

I don't know if i can seriously pick one, i love ska and all offshoots of ska so much its alll good. but if i had to pick one it might be
Ernest ranglins version of King tubby meets the rockers (done in a ska-jazz style).
other notables : the specials - gangster, the slackers - almost all of marcus's basslines, but mainly rider, and international war criminal.
Can't forget the skatalites either! the wailers simmer down is a great ska line too!! |

'gas in my car' springs to mind. that whole green album was pretty good, actually. i used to enjoy some ska, back in the mid to late 90's. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
