Anyone had any experiences with Bill Edwards Publishing? They have a few books/VHS/DVD for guitar, but only one book/VHS for bass. Wondering if anyone would endorse or discourage its use?

I have his Fretboard Logic for guitar, but it didn't get me going as well as taking some lessons. I've tried Ed Friedland's first book, and it goes through the basics very steadily and thoroughly. Lessons, even just a few to get some fundamentals, from a good teacher are your best bet.
