I have been hearing this song played quite abit lately and I like the bass line. Is it just standard tuning?

I used to go see Blues Image all the time when they were a house band at the Whiskey. I would talk to Malcolm the bass player and don't remember him using anything but standard tuning. They were a fantasic band live very tight and high energy. Mike Pinera the guitarist is still around gigging with Iron Butterfly and others. Joe Lala the percussionist has done a lot of studio work and then got into acting. If you can check out Blues Images albums some good stuff still.

I really like an early Blues Image album that has a more raw latin blues feel. My high school era band covered "Take Me to the Sunrise" and "Leavin My Troubles Behind" in '73-'74.

I saw them in the early 70's and the bulk of their material was way heavier than RCR, although that's a pretty good pop song. They kept taunting the audience saying they weren't going to play "that song". Finally, they brought out a huge trash bag full of marshmellows which they threw all over the audience and proceeded to play RCR.

Great show and a great band.
