Blues Resource?

I'd love to have a book or website that talks about the different styles of blues, what they're called, where they're from, and what is an accepted traditional bass line for each so I can pass along the info to my students.

Of course, I already understand I-IV-V, I-ii-V, turnarounds, quick changes, 12-bar vs. 8-bar vs. 16-bar, leading chords such as placing a VI chord on bar 8, and even if a curve is thrown into a progression I can handle it no sweat. What I want is something to organize my teaching of the subject so my students can learn to adapt as quickly as I do when it comes to blues progressions.

Thanks in advance!

Try Mike Hiland's book, Complete Blues Bass Book. It takes you from the simple to the complex, covers a lot of different blues styles, intros, endings, etc with complete song examples.

Here's a start: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blues

Check out the right side of the screen for the blues menu bars. It lists many styles of blues that may fit into what you need.

I always recommend using Ed Friedland's books. His blues book is very good. It gives you examples of the different styles.
