What song should I have my instructor teach me today? Last week it was Moby Dick. What should I do today?

Anything by Led Zeppelin, Cream, Allman Brothers Band, Derek and The Dominos, Jimi Hendrix and the Band of Gypsys, and Gov't Mule. They definitely go beyond the realm of Blues-Rock. They're definitely some of my main influences.

Uhhh, this is going to start a flame war but I'm going to throw it out there:

If you are paying money to have your teacher teach you how to play songs (Last week it was Moby Dick. What should I have him teach me today?) you are a much richer man than I and you must have money to burn.

Go find a new teacher. The cost will be the same and you'll get more out of it.

Anything from Johnny Winter.
Anything from Stevie Ray Vaughn.

I kinda second the comment about instructors teaching songs. If he's teaching the song because there's something that makes the bassline noteworthy, maybe some technique thing, or to reinforce something he taught you in the lesson that's one thing. If it's just for the sake of learning the song, you'd be better off figuring it out on your own.
