Question Books to READ while on Travel

Sign in to disble this ad
I know there are several threads on "best" bass books. I'm looking for recommendations of books that are good to read while on travel.

I typically travel with my Steinberger Spirit 5, but sometimes it just not possible to bring it along. I'd like to continue my learning while waiting for my flight, on the plane or hotel room without a bass in hand.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks, Loungesurfer

I'd definitely get The Music Lesson by Victor Wooten. Profound stuff on many levels.

"This is Your Brain on Music" is very good.
also "Zen Guitar"
and "Effortless Mastery"
these are not bass instruction books buy they have a lot to say about how to approach music and can be valuable, especially while you are away from practicing.

There are some great theory articles on http://www.ibreathemusic.com/browse/index.php?ltr=A
Copy two or three for each trip.

Good luck

Thanks to all for the suggestions.

- I did purchase "The Music Lesson"
- Already read "Your Brain on Music" and "Effortless Mastery" a few years back

All very interesting and informative.

Malcolm - thanks for the website reference - good idea!

I also had a sugggestion from someone else to load my MP3 player with lesson material that I can listen to while reading the instruction manual.

Being a Program Manager by trade I'm too used to projects having a start and an end. Learning bass or music for that matter is a journey. While each step is slow it is enjoyable.

Thanks again - Denys (aka loungesurfer)
