Does anyone have an opinion on this? I don't know what to think of it: for me it's almost like solving puzzles rather than playing music. Btw I'm using it along with Mel Bay's JS Bach for Bass (des Pres).

I was looking over the book at borders, and it seems more like a scale/modal reference guide than an instructional book. I would say take it to your teacher and have him go over it with ya.

yeah its definitely all about scales and arnt there heaps of them", i found it boring compared to other books and lessons i spend time on, but its great for reference and to use once in a while, every now and again you should pick it up and do one exercise, its good value, but i found trying too much of it is well, too much.
