Buzzing Question

Hi,

I just picked up a Ibanez GSR200 and a Peavey 100 AMP the other day thanks to the suggestions of everyone here. So far, so good..except one little problem.

I've been noticing whenever I play a note, such as F on the E string, the string will make a buzzing noise as if it is hitting the neck. I'm using my plucking hand to pluck towards my thumb across, not down..should I pluck in a more upwards motion?

Is that the only note could be fret needs some work. Could also be action too low or strings too light. Maybe nut isn't cut right.

Have you experimented with plucking with different angle, strength. Know another bass player that can try your bass and see if still gettng fret rattle.

There is no way to know with that little info.
