Here's a link to a promo for Camp MMW, the 3rd annual of which will be in August:

I had the privilege of attending the inaugural camp in 2008, and it was a truly amazing experience. If you have the time and can scratch up the cash, check it out!

Nope, no joke. It's just a regular ol' youtube video page. If you go to youtube.com and search for "Camp MMW trailer" it'll be the first item to come up, and the address is identical to my link. The link at mmw.net also goes to the same place. Some kind of computer or IE glitch at your end?

Hey Jimmy -- did you ever try that link again? I'd appreciate it if you'd confirm for others that my O.P. wasn't a "joke"!

Thanks, Jimmy.

BTW, that's Steven Bernstein (of Sex Mob fame), who's been a guest at both previous camps. Other guests in '08 were Marc Ribot and John Scofield....

Update from MMW

The deadline for applications for Camp MMW 2010 has been extended to June 21. In addition, they've just announced a new cost-saving option (a great idea, given that the regular, all-inclusive full price is $2000). The following is clipped from an email sent to alumni of previous camps:

This year, we are also offering an alternative lodging option whereby musicians can camp outside (open to ALL applicants).
Camping + Tuition + Meals = $1,100
Campers will have access to an outdoor shower facility, and must provide their own tent, sleeping bags, etc.

We are also offering three financial aid scholarships to offset some of the costs of camp to those who otherwise cannot afford it.

This year’s confirmed guests are guitarist and Berklee professor David Fiuczynski (Fuze) and Brazilian percussionist Cyro Baptista, with more to be announced later.

We hope to see you August 1-6th at Full Moon Resort.
All information will be posted on the CAMP MMW website, www.mmw.net/campmmw
.

Disclaimer: I have nothing to gain from recruiting applicants; I'm just an enthusiastic camp alumnus who is eager to help get the word out about this amazing experience!
