Can't nail a bass solo....

Unsure if this is the correct forum...

Hey guys, I am really having a tough time with a quick line.

Its a good 14 note line in a little less than 5 seconds.

I have all the notes, but the timing has me all bewildered.

Take a listen...before the guitard comes in and drowns it out

I can post the tab (which I would need to make) maybe or just the notes if yall want.

Any help to break this down would be really cool. I have to play this in front of 150 people...

Thank you!

Go grab the free slow down and loop software of your choice off the 'net (I like BestPractice) and get to the woodshed.

Don't practice until you get it right. Practice until you never get it wrong.

It'll smooth out with a little muscle memory.

If it helps any, when the guitar comes in it's playing exactly the same thing.

That is how I have been doing it, doing the riff slow until its perfect, then going a little faster. And I wish the guitar would do it too, but we only have an acoustic rhythm guitar. Its all me. Its the timing that gets me, but I'm Sitting down with the bass now.....

Thank you guys

Put the bass down and sing it. Once you can sing it, you'll internalize the timing. Then pick the bass back up and see how well your timing is.

Uh, if you have the notes then the timing is

"1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 -". It's 7 beats of eighth notes with a quarter note on beat 4 of bar 2.
