cant seem to figure this out

hey,

thanks for looking. so im tyring to start slap and pop. got a good set of intro vides off youtube. but i cannot figure out what it is he is doing here:

what i think is going on is. g string 5th fret he pops, then hammerons to the 6th, removes the hammeron then does a muted pop of the g string. but when i do that something seems different. any help would be great.

just to state the obvious i don't mean whats hes doing at the start of the video i mean about a minute in.
