Carpal Tunnel? Arthritis?

My left hand has been locking/cramping when I grip small objects and exert a good bit of force (i.e. using a screwdriver) but it doesn't bother me when I'm playing bass could I have either of these or could it be something else?

Depending on how you use your hands (your type of work for example), it could be any of these things. IMO, it would be a good idea to have a doctor give you a diagnosis. Try some of the yoga exercises in the link below.
