catchy tone

Hello yall

commercial pop/dance(or not) stuff always have catchy tone.
I think those tones are linked to the bass tuning/tone as well as top players, gear, instruments, studios etc.
It adds something magic and "secret".

So I wonder. Do you agree with me? What are the tunings that help to get a "catchy tone" in your opinion?

I guess something around Standard E and Standard D.
Imho C is too low for "catchy".

Most modern guitar based music (pop or not) uses standard tuning. I really don't understand the point of your question. :P

For me, catchy has always been F. Low F, high F, doesn't matter. But has to be F.

Sometimes F#.

the above, mostly.

tone comes from: technique (the player), hardware (bass, strings, pickups, preamps, amps), and engineering (recording or live sound skill/equipment.)

the net effect on timbre of different tunings is negligible. I'm pretty sure the pros who record pop tunes will overwhelmingly use standard tuning.
