I'm looking for what I guess could be called an enhanced metronome CD. Basically a CD with multiple tracks that have different drum beats, or drum progressions (preferably jazz style) that I could groove along to. Anyone know where I can find this?

check out Jamey Aebersold. It has bass drums and piano, but you turn the balance to one once side and it cuts out the bass, the other the piano. It's great for practicing and he's got tons of books on standards and keys with this stuff.

keyboards usually have drum beats, and depending on how nice it is they can sound pretty good.

How about a cheap drum machine or many multi-effects pedals come with rhythm functions.

The drummer my bass instructor plays with just released a CD of studio recrdings of various drum beats in different time signatures & genres.

I beleive it's $20. It is what we use during our lessons. I can get more info if you want?

+1

My teacher gave me a copy of an Aebersold CD. Would it be against the rules to post a rapidshare of it? It's an awesome practice tool.
