I'm going to have stuff to practice for years. I could really see it benefiting so many aspects of my playing in the long run, and I have to thank TB for getting me into it.

Great book, but don't stop there. Study a variety of players from different eras, and be sure to transcribe the stuff you dig.

The omnibook is an amazing resource, but unfortunately, there are a lot of errors in it that could have been prevented by some proof reading. There are a lot of annoying misspellings of accidentals, for one. It still can be a nice reference, but it doesn't work for what I bought it for - sight reading.

Oh yeah, forgot about the mistakes, I just scribble a sharp or flat on there or cross it out if it's wrong. Using it for sight reading is a great idea, I personally just use it to cop some licks I dig.

Yeah, I'm probably going to start transcribing solos from some of my favorites after I've been woodshedding for awhile. I'm really drawn to maybe taking down some Mahavishnu Orchestra and some Coltrane.

I think it works great for sight reading! And mistakes make it better - you never know what you're going to see in a reading situation. You might as well be prepared to see anything....
