Chicagoland bass teacher

Hello, I am searching for a bass teacher in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. I have used the search feature of the site but to no avail. Currently I'm taking lessons at the Arlington School of Music and am unsatisfied with my teacher. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much. I think i might be able to get out that far, but if anyone know a teacher closer to the Schaumburg area i would be glad to know of them.

P.S. Redhot6, do you know if the teacher you mentioned is like "What do you want to learn" or more "I think we should work on this" because i would really like someone who has a plan with what i should learn instead of just going with it.

I haven't talked to him in more than a decade, but Steve Edsey (I think he's in Schaumburg) is a phenomenal prog/metal bassist and very nice guy. He has a band page at http://www.myspace.com/lucaswhiteedsey but I don't have his contact info. I'm not sure if he's actively teaching, but he was patient, very precise and had monster technique when I knew him.

If you happen to get in touch with him, tell him Winston Berger--Larry Gray's worst student at DePaul--sent you.

I'm at the 6 corners of irving park/ cicero/ milwaukee, and my students are attending Berklee, enjoying fantastic careers, and gigging with the best musicians in new york.

Try a couple teachers before you settle into a groove. I may not be the best teacher for *you,* but I guarantee you'll walk away a better bassist...

pm for more.
