Chord chart/ constructing chords

Does anyone have a chord chart for a few basic chords going all the way up the neck? I would like to start playing in the higher registers, but I find that my basic knowledge of just knowing the chords at the headstock will not suffice. Can I just take each note and then find them higher up on the neck?

Sorry about my noobness.

better to sit down and work them out.....start with the major and minor triads, add the sevenths,extentions......the chord tones are the same for each chord everywhere on the neck,keyboard,trumpet,sax......say each chord note as you practice and six months from now,you will know them, with sufficient practice time

Scroll down to figure 4. Copy this it'll come in handy for a bunch of things.

Click the Chord button
Ask for D major

Notice you need the 1-3-5 intervals of the D scale to make a D major chord. Using the handy dandy scale chart you find that this is the D, F# and A notes. Help yourself to the many ways you you can finger the D, F# and A notes as you go up the neck. All you need is one each of the D, F# and A. It's OK to have duplicate notes, i.e. two D's or two A's, this will just gives a "fuller" sound.

Notice the patterns repeat themselves.
Have fun.

I have found it can be helpful to find chords on a piano and "transfer" them to bass. But I've only done this for basic chords so I'm not sure about the more complex ones.
