Chord Generator

Sign in to disble this ad
I have seen a million chord generators out there that will show you how to play a chord based on a name, but i am looking for the opposite type of thing where i could type in how a chord is played, and it would tell me the name of that chord...

Does such a thing exist?

Any links?

You change the instrument to bass if you really want to

Awesome! Thats exactly what i was looking for.
Thanks.

But i noticed that the sound is distorted weird at the beginning when i go to play the audio sample of the chord.
Whats the deal with that?

Nevermind, it looks like maybe a glitch in the system or something.
It plays ok now.

Is there a way into incorperate harmonics in there???

Better yet and you will learn a lot more is sit down with a piece of paper and write out the notes of the chord. Then figure out what it is best exercise you could get. You will learn to spot triads and color tones. That will help in creating bass lines, reading, and improv. The hard way pays big benefits down the road.

+1 to DocBop. Make sure you know your major and minor scales and work from there with the chord notes. It's (mostly) not rocket science.

Like DocBop says, lean to figure out chords without reference to physical shapes. It'll help you become a musician who plays and understands bass, rather than just someone who hits notes on a bass-shaped instrument.
