Classical training/examination

I'm wondering if you guys know of any classical training or examinations for electric bass? I've found stuff for DB, but I can't seem to find much for electric. I did RCM piano, and was wondering if there is something similar for us low-end boys (and girls)?

I like the structure of that system, the goals and achievements that I don't get from the other training I've had.

Wish I could help, but I haven't seen any RCM material for electric bass. Yet, it may exist, so why not contact the sanctioning body? http://www.rcmexaminations.org/

I'm going to guess that most music institutions are rather conservative and would not see the electric bass as a 'classical' instrument.

I'm sure (minus the bowing requirements) the DB exam would be all that the RCM would have. Do they offer a degree in EB?

I think you'll find that a lot of advanced EB players use DB etudes, music and such and suppliment it with more modern books on slap and funk patterns.

I checked with RCM, they have nothing for electric bass, and I talked to a friend who is doing it with DB, and he said the majority of it is bowing.
So I will continue my search, and hope that someone else might pop up and have more info.

Let us know if you find what you are seeking, but why not look for a teacher who can teach Double bass RCM stuff and who also teaches electric bass?
