Common rhythm patterns book

Sign in to disble this ad
A few years back, (about 20 years ago), I purchased a bass book that compiled a list of the most common rhythm patterns used by bassists. It also took each pattern and presented them in useful examples and even had examples combining different patterns. It really helped my reading and timing. Unfortunately, the book was misplaced during several moves and I can't remember the title. Do any of you wonderful musicians out there know about such a book and what the title is?
Also, is there any place on the internet where common rhythm patterns are listed so I can just download them and create my own lines from them?
Oh, one more comment: I've used Carol Kaye's books, especially #3 and the jazz improv book, and I don't know about anyone of you, but I found a lot of her rhythms really hard to follow. Many of her solo transcriptions are very rough and choppy, they don't seem to flow smoothly. Does anyone else feel the same way or is it just me?
Thanks for the help,
Johnny

I don't think that is the one, but that looks very interesting! I'm going to have to check it out.
Thank you,
Johnny

Paul Westwood's Bass Bible has a large section of bass rhythm phrases/examples by style...very useful for familiarizing yourself with various styles.
