Complete Jazz book

Sign in to disble this ad
I bought mel bay's complete jazz book by earl gately or sth and i was thinking...

is the book of any use if u are not caring about your reading skills coz the licks and examples dont build on me when i want to create my own stuff. Coz i realized that when playing with a band you gotta just feel and play and not take sth out of lick-books.

And this book isnt about jazz at all.

Do you guys believe in these lick-style books?
