I was scrolling through some of the post and I noticed that there are a lot of posts about different practice tools.

I was hoping this threat could be a listing and describing of all the different practice tools that people on this forum have come across and found useful. Include things like the costs and where you can find.

I conisder my iTunes one of my main tools. I create Work and listening lists and real easy to jump around a tune with the click of a mouse when transcribing. Another tool is call Transcribe and cool when trying to do a take-down on a tune. You can slow down without changing pitch and also has filters so if you want to focus on bass turn on the bass filter. A class I took required Audacity recording software and I continue to use it. It is real basic free recording software. I can pull in MP3's and plug in my bass to play along or add my own tracks. Sometimes I will use it to record my practice to critiqe myself. I mainly use my Mac so I have GarageBand it is Audacity on steroids and lots of loops and has lots of effects and sounds. I have iDrum a easy to program drum machine, sure there are PC equivilents. Then I use online ear trainning programs. Just about anything you need is available if you just Google around.
