i would highly recommend learning to play with a pick and how to slap, as well as using your fingers.

i've played bass for 7 years, and i've pretty much done only fingerstyle. it's gotten me pretty far. but now i find myself trying to get better at picking and slapping (i'm only okay at both) as i feel limited. both styles open up new sounds / feels / textures unachievable by fingerstyle alone. though fingerstyle can do just about anything, it can't do everything. sometimes a song just needs some pick bass.

while you're at it, learn to use 3 (or 4) fingers and learn to use your thumb as well. but definitely learn picking and slapping.
