Define this type of music.....

I've cooked up this genre of music in my head , which I would like to hear what it would sound like . I'm suresome variation of this already exists , so I want you guys to help me to identify which bands would be kinda like this ;

1 Rhythmic guitar is simplistic , follows a simple chord progression , really slowly , and is usually the 'Drive' behind the entire composition . Basically put the Rhythm guitar on low overdrive , and have a chord struck which continues for a while . The strums follow the bass drum .

2 Melodic bass playing . Not really random walking bass / jazz style , but more along the lines of diatonic , melodies which still focus around the chordal changes , but have a more Lead guitar like vocal approach . The only example I can give of something like this is Geezer Butlers playing style in a lot of black sabbath songs , such as N.I.B

3 Absence of Lead guitar , or lead guitar derived style of playing .

Is there any form of music like this out there , and can you guys define any bands like this ??

I wouldn't say it's enough to define a genre.
English pop rock bands use this formula extensively.
Placebo, the Cure, Joy Division, Pixies...

Well I've heard of Joy Division and Placebo . Will check them out .

Stoner metal . I'll check that out too .

See basically If any of you have heard German Hard Rock or Industrial Rock , along the lines of Rammstein , Megaherz , KMFDM , L'ame Immortelle , then you would realize how they have the rhythmic power chord oriented driving guitar . When I say driving I literally mean that the Guitar is strummed , and allowed to ring out a while . Kinda like playing Alternative Rock bass , only on a chord level on distorted guitar .

The bass I dunno how to define more precisely . Just check out any popular Sabbath song , where the bass follows the lead . When Iommi isnt off improvising over blues , even his lead style style is the same notes as the bass , which is basically a nice melodic diatonic riff .
