The basic rule of double thumbing it's just use it as a guitar pick one movement down and one up.
So apply it on scales or arpeggios playing for each note the double thumb up and down.
When you get more confident with it go ahead with the next step that is play arpeggio with string skipping, It does mean play one note with thumb down, the next one with thump up etc etc...
If you need more help contact me.
Cheers. Enrico

I'd work on getting the upstroke to sound as strong/consistent as the down-stroke too. Using the nail on the upstroke to get the same kind of body/consistency takes some angle adjustment ime. Something to practice at a slower tempo until it sits really. As well as the usual doubling on scales/arps as mentioned by enricogaletta, try the Jaco line on Weather Report's - River People for some octave/string skipping thumb locating practice.

You "found" this resource? Looks like you're advertising your own product... As you are a new member of TB, here's a little advice: come clean with full disclosure and you'll likely get a more positive response. People on this site tend to be quite savvy.

Here's a short video that stresses the importance of left hand (fretboard) damping.

double thumb bass lesson - YouTube

That's my down fall = flat left hand damping, which cuts down unwanted string noise like sympathetic droning & harmonics ringing, etc.
