Drum Tracks for Practice

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey fellas. I did a search of both drum machines and software, and really didn't see a recent answer to my question. I am looking for a wide variety of preprogrammed drum/percussion tracks to practice over.

Not interested in recording options or tapping out my own rhythms. Can use BIAB, but a bit clunky sounding. Ideas? Thanks

I did a search and came up with an old thread that I posted on. Here you go.

You might want to take a look at this software: Downloadable free software to make your own drum tracks

Check the >File>Open to find some prerecorded tracks and it will help you learn how to use the software. It's pretty easy. You can save your tracks as well.

Have you tried BIAB with the RealDrums?

They're anything but clunky!

Toontrack EZ drummer. Nothing to program if you just want it to play a beat. It comes with a beat library and more can be added very easily.

Barring that a milti FX pedal with a built in drummer, like a Zoom B2 or a korg pandora will play basic beats you can practive over and either one can be connected to the computer easily for additional variety.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I am looking for more than just a beat. I would like a wide variety of realistic sampled drums to work with.

Thats exactly what EZ drummer has, I've gone farther with it than you may want to , but using the supplied midi files, and or cubase I have the drum parts to entire songs in it's libraries.
Fills, intros etc you name it, it plays real sampled drum kits from a midi file, meaning it uses the midi notes, not the cheezy sounds.

The drums you hear in THIS (it sounds much better in HQ)are it's big brother Superior Drummer, but the actual kit being played is an EZ Drummer add on kit called "vintage" a Ludwig kit from the 60's recorded in the Hit Factory Studio.

Some of them I did myself, some of them I gleaned out of full midi files. It works as a standalone software or as a virtual instrument in a software like cubase or Logic etc.
You should check out the ezdrummer demo.
