I don't have time for lessons and I am not going to make time either. I have 2 kids, a wife, a job and a house to maintain.

Do you have any tried and true DVDs that would help me with more complicated lines. I play in a worship band, and we are getting really good, but I want to get better.

I mostly play the root with some short walks to the next chord and a few (a la drums) fill licks for spice.

I can't really walk all over yet.

I like some slap style licks, though slap does not always fit, so there are times when I just pluck and use a slap style left handed technique (octave stuff).

I want to make more complicated tasy lines, but in the Christian music market, there are not a ton of examples of this that I can emulate.

What do you suggest that I watch so in between diapers and bed time, I can take a few minutes and learn some stuff?

Have you checked out the Norm Stockton videos? I haven't seen them yet (soon!) but they come highly recommended. Perhaps someone who has them could comment.

Carol Kaye's 2 hour Bass DVD course is just what you need. When you've mastered that, her Rock Funk CD and manual and "Electric Bass Lines" books.
Lots of great funky stuff from a studio pro.

I have those materials. Tons of great useable stuff. No boring scales and modes.
