I found a pretty cool site while messing around on the computer today. I thought I would share.

Nice. Thanks for posting this...I could sit here for an hour, sip beer, and click away!
It seems like I'm better at hearing ascending intervals, rather than descending.

I gotta admit a couple of those threw me... I'm still toggling the options.

Unfortunatley....I REALLY suck at this. The perfect
4th and 5th are my major hangups. Just sticking with the majors right now. I haven't done the minors yet.

Perfect fourth: "Here comes the bride." (1-4 4 4)
Perfect fifth: First two notes of Star Wars theme

A better example for a perfect fifth might be the 2001: A Space Odyssey theme. There are a *lot* of themes in Star Wars, LOL - one for each character, really.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWnmCu3U09w

The first three notes are root, fifth, 8ve. Another way to look at this is the first two notes are root and fifth, and the second and third of the first three are root and P4.

Is lame that I'm great at hearing a minor 7th ascending if it's a bass that's playing the interval, since it's used A LOT in funk. But if you change the sound to piano, I get it confused with the major 7th. BAH!

Can't forget the maj. 3rd to flat 3rd after that. Chromatic action!

And of course you knew I meant THE theme from Star Wars. THE one. .

I mix up m6 and M6 sometimes if I'm not paying attention. Anybody know a good "reference" song for those?

Seriously, man, 12 hours of music by John Williams. I really don't know which one you mean! LOL

The "Across the Stars" theme is a good example of a minor 6th, I just realized.

The first two notes of the NBC theme are a major sixth - it's an inverted major chord (5th below - 3rd - root).

I'll give you a hint....it plays at the beginning. They like to call it the "Title Theme".

You know there were 6 movies, right?

This title theme?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIqRlubnkjA

Isn't that an 8ve?

Edit: Nevermind; I just realized you meant the melody @ 7-8 seconds in. Thanks!
