Thirded. If you like Lily Allen also check out Rilo Kiley. "Portions For Foxes" and "A Better Son/Daughter" are two of my favorite warmup/cooldown songs. Three chords, catchy, fun to play.

I like Rilo Kiley as well, but I don't know those songs, I'll try them out

Come Together by the Beatles is surprisingly easy. And you have a slide that is easy as well. Plus.... the bass part is great

fascination street by the cure.

repetitive as heck, but key to the song. if you can nail that riff fifty times in a row, you're ready to join a band.

A some of songs in first learned were:
Jesus just left Chicago by ZZ Top
Green Onions by Booker T & the MG's
Holy Diver by Dio
Unchain my heart by Ray Charles
These songs helped me get in some good ear training because the bass is so prominent. They are also fairly easy to play.
