Ed Friedland ROCKS!

Sign in to disble this ad
I was just sitting here watching Ed Friedland's review of the Clement fretless 5, and it dawned on my how much of an invaluable resource all of his work has been to me. It was like getting smacked in the face. From Building Walking Basslines, to Bass Improvisation, to his instrument review videos and articles, he covers virtually everything with depth and clarity. I would just like to take a moment to say, thank you Ed Friedland, wherever you are. You officially ROCK!

note: If you aren't familiar with Ed's work, I highly recommend you check it out!

How weird -- I was commuting home from work today, and totally out of the blue, for no reason, I suddenly thought -- "Ed Friedland is a cool guy, I like his books (like that reggae one!) and I like his youtube videos. He has taught me a lot. I should send him an email telling him that."

So, Ed, I will tell you that here. You do indeed rock!!!!

Happy Ed Friedland Day!

Celebrate by getting your favorite bass something.

I think I'll get my Trib. L2500 some TI Flats.

Ed is cool. He called out of the blue to ask me about the bass and I started sweating bullets but he put me at ease quickly. After seeing the video I decided that bass was mine to keep.

Too bad I can't make it sound like that.

He and I have been doing a lot of e-mailing back and forth about a build I will point out this thread to him..tom

Thanks all! I greatly appreciate the props. I'm very lucky to be able to do what I do, and this is why! Glad I could be of help.

I guess I'll mention that while I only accept FaceBook requests from personal friends, I do have a page up there there for The Bass Whisperer, and its open to anyone that wants to keep up with what I'm doing. I guess it's sort of like Twitter, except it's cooler because I can post pics and whatever. Please feel free to check me out there. And... please check out TheBassWhisperer.com for lots of other reviews, it's an archive for a lot of my print work, as well as a place I put special things that are not found in any magazine like my Tone Tests, etc. It's all free of course.

Thanks again for the spontaneous outpouring!

He does indeed.

I've sent him number of emails with questions and he always responds. Not only is he a wealth of information on everything bass, he's good people as well and the say's a lot in my book.

Thanks Ed,

Jeb

Got several of his books, they're great. I'm learning a lot about building bass walking lines from that book...

Hi Ed! Long time no talk buddy...don't know if you remember me but I bought a Boss parametric equalizer from you like 15 years ago. Glad you are doing so well these days! Really enjoy your reviews.
