I have been playing for some years now and have always concentrated on the technical aspects of the art !!!!! which of late i have felt has squeezed almost all art out of my playing so i got to think of something as simple as intervals. instead of thinking of them as spaces between two notes what feeling do they evoke inside me.

what are your thoughts what do you feel when you hear a
-2 ; tritone maj7 etc. do you feel them as emotions colors i donno its a very abstract concept but i think if you know how to consruct music that triggers certain feelings you can create something that can move ones audience in a certain way.

in short i am sick to death of calculating mathematic scientific passages of music from a purely academic position.

How about thinking in terms of phrases? An interval can serve many purposes, and it makes a difference whether you're ascending or descending.

Intervals are nice. Duration is amazing too.

If you play two notes you are playing a interval. Go to music school and take a ear training class they teach you to hear intervals by popular songs that use them. In other words it is you who makes an interval mathmatic or musical. Intervals are just a tool its up to you make art with the tool.
