Fiddle Tunes?

Sign in to disble this ad
As part of my "freshen up my playing and get out of a rut" program I'm going to learn a few Irish fiddle tunes.

Anyone else play 'em, and if so, do you have any favorites for playing on bass?

It's been (many) years since I've played any Celtic music, and I was playing percussion then. so I don't have a lot of repertoire immediately coming to mind.

I know 2 that are on my list:

The Butterfly Jig (really a slipjig)
Toss the Feathers

Any other suggestions?

Not Celtic, but I like playing Turkey in the Straw
