What's the best way to do bass fills (in rock music or in general). Do you guys have any tips? Thanks

I like to throw in a part of a scale.. not the whole thing just a few notes of one to make it sound cool.

Pick a note and play parts of a scale of that note until something sounds like it will work then add it in and see how it sounds...

Works most of the time

All my fills are derived from a pentatonic scale. I find the "square" patterns of the pentatonic scale easier to use in fills.
