Sorry, I couldent find a way to edit the title of my last thread. Anyways, yesterday I had mentioned that I would be having my first jam & recording session, & I can say, I'm glad I went, Shaking with fear I entered the building, & as soon as I met the 'band leader' he was totally understanding & easy going. He had told me mostly things I was supposed to know, all of which I knew but still. & he wants me to give my own input, he knows I'm a noob & just tells me to do what I can, he understands, I have to learn somewere. In the end I dident feel uncomfortable at all, because we shared one great similarity- Our love for music, I'm glad I went. I've gotten a CD to jam with & I'm going back next weekend.

That's the best way to get going and to really learn to play. I was fortunate that I had a band waiting for me to pick up the bass. Now that the band is no longer (and hasn't been for a while) I really appreciate that they allowed me to fumble around the fingerboard and jam with them (4 great musicians too btw) and become a better bass player.

Now I feel like I can jam with just about anyone.

I wish I had the guts to find a group of people that would let me do that
