Hi all,
I am a muso from Melbourne Australia and have created some jam tracks for myself and other muso's to use. Initially I was doing them for guitar players to play lead over but I am a bass player so I dropped out the bass from tracks so I had something to practice along with.
I don't know of too much around for us bass players so I've put them up on the web for common good. I am not selling anything/trying to advertise - it's just music for music's sake.
The jam tracks for bass players are on here: http://www.freejamtracks.com/tracks4bass.html
They are mostly all basic blues progressions at the moment.
I will update the site with some new progressions soon. Let me know what you think if you want - or give me some ideas of what else I could put up there.
I'm into Berry Oakley and Tommy Shannon more than anyone else - so my bass playing comes from that style mostly.
It's all good though.
Have fun.
Cheers,
Nick. |

| | | | Thanks for posting the postive comments everyone.
I'm glad to hear people getting something out of them. It makes it worth while putting them up and gives me motivation to keep working on them, get them better and put more up.
They are fun to make up and record - plus I like jamming along with them too (which is how it all started).
I will start working on some funkier stuff soon. I'll have to watch standing in the shadows of motown/listen to some funk brothers to get a bit of inspiration.
Music for music's sake is a great thing.
Cheers all,
Nick. |

haha - lomo, how far up in the Frozen North are you? Isn't it heading into summer up North?
It's winter down where I live - but it doesn't snow/freeze in Melbourne (Australia).
Just as well - my fingers don't move too great when they get cold.
Does anyone have anything specific they'd like me to try and do for the jam tracks? I don't want to totally rip off specific songs. Feels and styles is the aim.
I am going to focus on stuff for us bass players this weekend anyway.
