Free Slap Bass Lessons...

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi everyone!

I'm a new member on here (been a member of the Bass-Chat UK for some time). I've posted some free bass lessons on Youtube and the response has been very good so far. A lot of people have found the videos helpful already so thought I'd share them with a wider audience.

Here are the lessons I've uploaded so far...

Lesson 1 - Overview of Slap Bass

Lesson 2 - Slap Pattern 1

Lesson 3 - Getting a clear slap/left hand slap

Lesson 4 - Slap Pattern 2

Lesson 5 - Hammer-ons & Pull-offs

Hope you find them useful :-)

Scott.

Great video lessons! I'm nowhere near a bass at the moment but just watching these videos has helped me grasp some the slap concepts I wasn't able to understand before. I'm new to slap, even though I've played bass for 10 years, and the two patterns you posted are great because they aren't too simple or too complicated.

I also like the added camera work in the 4th video showing a close-up of your hands. A slight bit of constructive criticism though: try doing a Picture-in-picture so if the main shot is a closeup of your left hand, you still have a full shot or right hand shot in a smaller window. Just a minor suggestion. Can't wait to see the next ones!

Thanks for the comments! Yes a small picture withinb the main may work better. I'll give it a go in a future video :-)

Thanks again!
