Just had the biggest eureka moment concerning scale patterns all over the neck. The website below has a very useful tool which helped me learn this, just thought I'd leave it here to see if it could help anyone.

when I was first learning, I grabbed graph paper and drew my own. I think It might be better to do it that way.
Start with the WWHWWWH formula and Force yourself to think it through, figure it out on your own and you'll retain it better...

My teacher carries around diagrams of the fretboard to every lesson, with all the noteswritten. THen he'll highlight the notes in a song for someone having trouble.
