Fretbuzz when playing with pick.

I always played fingerstyle but lately i'm trying to pick up playing with pick for fast rock songs.

But somehow I get alot of annoying fretbuzz when playing with pick which i don't have when playing fingerstyle.
Am i using a wrong technique or is it normal to have to raise your strings for playing with pick?

The same thing happened for me, but after a while I discovered that I'd set up my bass for my fingerstyle playing, which is pretty light - whereas my pickstyle was much firmer.

I chose to lighten my pick attack a bit, because I didn't want to raise my action. I found it preferable; a lighter pick attack makes for a more pleasant and clear note IMO, and my left hand didn't have to adjust to a different string height.

I agree with a lighter touch.

You might want to work on keeping the pick flat against the string and keeping your strokes parallel to the fingerboard. The buzzing is from the string vibrating out of the plane parallel to the fingerboard.
