Fun things to do to practice inadvertantly

Watch T.V. and make up riffs/mood music to movies, commercials, and whatever. You can also catch onto the bass lines to the theme songs for your favorite movies, shows, and commercials really easy this way too.

Just the other day I was watching "Quarantined" (Good freaky movie by the way) and by the time it was over, my wrist, finger joints, and finger tips were completely fried due to playing so much, and so fast.

Edit:
My favorite theme song to play on Bass so far is the theme to "The Barney Miller Show". My favorite theme song to play on Guitar at the moment is the theme for "King of the Hill".

I do that from time to time too! It's a lot of fun. Doesn't really work when you're watching TV with other people though.

Btw... Is Barney Miller even still on the air? I don't think I've seen it on TV Land yet... Still great intro. I learned to play it from YouTube after reading about people talking about it.

Sadly, no it is not on the air any more. I actually always wanted to learn that song, and "Sir Duke" by Stevie Wonder, so I had to go to Youtube for both as well.

LONGE LIVE YOUTUBE!!!!

When they played the who rock honors on vh1, I watched the show about four times. Played along on my p bass with flats.

I don't mind at all when my SO plays along with with the television - and sometimes we turn it down, just so he can. I should try it more, myself - it's so much fun.
