Alright, joined a gospel group last week and was given music to tab out. Usually I am great at this , however not so good so far. I have found the notes on the neck, but they come out to be A# G# D#. Does anyone have any clue what key this is actually in or what scale/mode this can be related to? Im not sure if I have a dead spot and am compensating by moving a half step, but something is most definitely incorrect. If anyone has a clue about this, please let me know. Thanks

Most musicians would probably call those notes Bb, Ab, and Eb. They are very common notes for horns and keyboard players (less so for guitarists). The song could be in the key of Eb (in which case it would be a V-IV-I progression, very common) or possibly the key of Bb. You haven't really given us enough information. Is there a particular note that sounds like "home" to your ear?

If you start working with horn players a lot your will be playing in flat-keys all the time.

Did you transcribe the chord progression that should of been a clue you were in Eb.
