A good "duh" moment

Thanks to Ed Roseman's "Edly's Music Theory for Practical People," I had a good "duh" moment today.

I was trying to learn a song this morning. After going through it pretty slowly, I realized that the note progression was basically R 3 5 b7, then moved up a whole tone but was still just R 3 5 b7.

After that, I had no trouble with the fingering and could concentrate on the rhythm.

I don't remember who it was, but I'd like to say thanks to whoever it was that recommended the book.
