Obnoxiously simple bassline, but very effective with the fretless action. |

(Sorry, couldn't resist)
Seriously, check Paul Simon's "Graceland". Bakithi Kumalo really shines with his fretless Washburn in that album. "A Remark You Made", played by Jaco with Weather Report, is one of my all-time favorite fretless tunes.

I havent heard it, except in samples, but i think Jaco on Joni Mitchell's Hejira is great too. |

and of course you should learn Pino Paladino's Paul Young lines THEN SIGN AN OATH NEVER TO PLAY THEM. They are fantastic but so cheesy.

And if you wanna get into it, I say you are either my hero, or you're totally kidding yourself if you think that bass line is simple when it goes to the chorus... |

other honourable mentions:
Kate Bush Babooshka (sp)...(Mick Karn????)
Zucchero senza una donna (sp)...Pino..simple line but THE TONE
Paul Simon the whole Graceland album...Baghiti Kumalo
Moving Hearts "Half Moon"...Eoghan O Neill...Beautiful
And I dont care what anyone says..Chris De BLUUUURGHHS "Lady in red" is the naffest, most vomit inducing song EVER recorded but the bassline is brilliant..
