I picked this up a while a go and I'd recommend it to anyone studying or wanting to study jazz.

I would like to add a +1 to this recommendation. And I will also add The Jazz Theory Book by Mark Levine. Superior in many respects but doesn't seem to cover the range of information that Jazzology does.

I have the Mark Levine book and have referred to it a few time. It's a large book, but surprisingly succinct.

This link is to the same book, only cheaper and eligible for free super save discount. (and curious to see if the same jbrlsr.com redirect link appears when I post this)

edit: no, no it doesn't show up, just the straight amazon.com link

There's another called "Building a Jazz Vocabulary" that's also well worth a look. It applies to any instrument too.
